The Idea
The Steps
Using the diagram, I created the part on Inventor and then put it into Fusion 360. Then using the CNC mill to create the piece out of foam. When it did not mill to the right thickness, I had to go back to Fusion 360 and make a change. I then used the CNC mill and laser engraving my name into the final product.
The Final Product
What I Learned
After this project, I learned that it is pretty simple to use the mill, but it is also very easy to do something wrong. I had the height wrong in Fusion 360 and after using the mill realized that I must go back, fix the problem, and start over. I also learned that you must not rush because there is more of a chance that you get something wrong to. I was rushing toward the end of class to get done and I must have done something wrong because the mill made a cut diagonally straight through my foam piece. But after all that, the next try went much smoother as I calmed down, went slower, and got everything right.
